Dr. Gal Meiri, a child psychiatrist, is the head of the Preschool Psychiatry Unit at Soroka University Medical Center in Beer Sheva and a Lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Ben Gurion University of the Negev. Dr. Meiri specializes in Autism Spectrum Disorder and is also the Clinical Director of the National Autism Research Center of Israel . In particular, Dr. Meiri studies the prevalence of autism in Bedouin communities, focusing on genetic, cross-cultural, social, and environmental risk factors. Most recently, Dr. Meiri participated in conducting an observational study the to study the “real life” effects of cannabinoids on symptoms of ASD.
